Rick joined StraussGroup with over 14 years of recruiting experience.  What he enjoys most is matching a candidate's experience and career direction to a client's needs for quality talent.

In addition to 14 years of recruiting, before joining the StraussGroup team, Rick had a successful multi-faceted career in public accounting, corporate accounting environments,  teaching (accounting courses at the college/university level) and in providing consulting services.  He worked his way up from staff accounting positions in Buffalo to higher level Controller and CFO opportunities.  Rick was the Lead Instructor for Becker CPA Review from 1988 to 1999 and has taught as a full-time professor at Canisius College and the State University of New York at Buffalo.  The last dozen plus years, Rick provided very capable and creative placement and recruiting services for a local Western NY staffing firm.

Rick enjoys staying current in all accounting and finance matters in order to successfully evaluate, identify, recruit, and match interested candidates to searches whether local or national in scope.  His whole life and direction has been one of service; to corporations, to students, and to job seekers.  He is well connected to the Western NY community and feels that he can add even more choice and opportunities for candidates and employers with national needs.  Rick brings joy and enthusiasm to the work place.  If you want someone that cares and can help put you on the right career path, Rick is available during regular work hours, evenings and/or weekends to discuss possibilities.

Rick holds an MBA from West Virginia University and a BA in Economics from Muskingum College in Ohio; he has a CPA in New York and Pennsylvania, and is also a CMA, a Certified Management Accountant.  He is active in many local and national accounting and financial organizations.
