Jacob (Jake) Strauss just completed his fourth year at StraussGroup. Jake is part of our company’s succession plan, so he is involved with several pieces of the business; however, his focus is search. His recruiting skills in the financial services space, particularly mid-to-senior level manufacturing positions, are well-honed. Jake also oversees the operations and technology platform at StraussGroup and facilitates many training sessions with our staff.
Jake graduated from Penn State University with a B.S., in Business and Communications. After graduating, Jake was recruited to Qualtrics in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he was a top performer in their market research and sales division, supporting national and global companies. Qualtrics, which was recently acquired by SAP, is the leading survey software company in the world.
The lure of working with his family brought Jake back to Buffalo, New York where he has now settled in. In his spare time, Jake plays tennis, and golf and enjoys participating in civic engagement. Jake is on the board of the Buffalo Zoo, the Future of Roswell Society, and volunteers for several other non-profits in Western New York. At Penn State, Jake was a major contributor to THON, the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. THON, which stands for a 46-hour continuous dance-a-thon, raises more than 11 million dollars a year to provide emotional and financial support to children and families who live in Pennsylvania and are diagnosed with pediatric cancer.
