Jacob Strauss is a Partner and executive search consultant at StraussGroup, where he has been a key leader of the firm since joining in October 2018. He leads client development and search execution across StraussGroup’s manufacturing and industrial practices, while also supporting the firm’s Financial and Professional Services groups. In addition, Jake serves as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing technology, training, and performance infrastructure across the firm.

Jake works with middle-market and growth-oriented organizations across the United States, with particular depth in manufacturing, building products, and finished goods. Based in Buffalo, he also plays a central role in the firm’s regional partnerships across Western New York, where StraussGroup is deeply embedded in the local manufacturing and industrial economy.

Jake earned his bachelor’s degree in Business and Communications from Penn State University. He began his career at Qualtrics in Salt Lake City, where he was a top performer in the company’s market research and sales organization, supporting national and global clients. Qualtrics was later acquired by SAP and today serves a majority of Fortune 100 companies.

A Buffalo native, Jake returned to Western New York to join the family business and help expand its reach and impact. He was named a Buffalo Business First 30 Under 30 honoree and has served on the foundation boards of the Buffalo Zoo and the Future of Roswell Society. He continues to support a number of local nonprofit and civic organizations.

Outside of work, Jake enjoys tennis, golf, and staying active in the Buffalo community. While at Penn State, he was a major contributor to THON, the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, which raises millions of dollars annually for pediatric cancer patients and their families.
