Jacob Strauss

Jacob (Jake) Strauss is a Partner at StraussGroup, where he leads the firm’s manufacturing practice, including client development and search execution, and supports its financial services, legal, and professional services work. He also oversees firm operations, including technology, training, and performance infrastructure.
Jake works with organizations ranging from small family-owned businesses to large global corporations, with particular depth in manufacturing, building products, and finished goods. He works closely with the family owners and private equity sponsors behind those companies, and plays a central role in the firm’s relationships across Western New York’s manufacturing and industrial community.
Since joining StraussGroup in 2018, Jake has consistently been the firm’s top producer. In 2025 he was named to Buffalo Business First’s 30 Under 30.
Jake began his career as an early member of the sales team at Qualtrics in Utah, working with national and global accounts before the company was acquired by SAP. A Buffalo native, he returned home to join the family business and help expand its reach. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business and Communications from Penn State University, where he was a major contributor to THON, the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, which raises millions each year for children with cancer and their families.
Jake has served on the foundation boards of the Buffalo Zoo and the Future of Roswell Society and continues to support a number of local nonprofit and civic organizations. Outside of work he plays tennis and golf and is a devoted Sabres, Ravens, and Penn State fan.
